I bought this knife to have a fancy/stylish "office knife," mostly for opening mail or packages. I'm pretty happy with it overall for that.Upsides: The Damascus steel blade and carbon fiber scales make a very attractive package. I picked a front flipper knife to have sleek/hidden lines and it doesn't disappoint. It feels nice in the palm, although not the most ergonomic. The heft feels good at 3.47oz. Out of the box it came sharp, centered, no blade wobble, great fit and finish, no obvious defects.Downsides: This was my first front flipper knife and I'm not finding the action to be as good/natural as a thumb stud or back flipper. The liner lock feels overly stiff and probably the thing I dislike the most. I was hoping to enjoy fidgeting with the knife more after becoming accustomed to it, but I don't. Needed a little knife oil right away to smooth out the action.Love this knife. A little on the heavier side but thats because its copper. Plus i like the weight. The best thing about this knife it is absolutely beautiful in every respect. I can't knock it on anything, honestly - it is a delight to hold and admire. The challenge for me was that it was difficult to open. Maybe it is because I am new to front flippers, but it took a strong effort to get it to flip open. I decided to exchange it for the Civivi Chronic which is a regular flipper and I like that better. But seriously, if you are good with front flippers this is one amazingly beautiful knife.Got this with the intention or rotating in when I dress a little nice and wanted a "fancy" knife. It's very much a fancy knife but it is HEAVY. So be warned. You feel the heft when you pick it up. Especially going from a mini bugout to this. Very nice though CF version is a couple oz lighter if you're worried about the weightThe only thing I would change about this knife would be the scales: I wish the scales were full carbon fiber, rather than a carbon fiber insert. Nevertheless, with a little practice, is’s a fidgeter’s delight. The blade is very sharp and nicely, but subtly, patterned. It’s an excellent light-duty knife, light and small enough to clip into my shirt pocket at work — in business-casual attire.I recommend it highly, though I would suggest opting for the Civivi McKenna as a first front-flipper, as the ergonomics are more friendly to people buying their first front-flipper. Just an all-around excellent knife with one minor nit to pick. It’s got a prominent spot in my daily-carry rotation, and I recommend it eagerly. 4.5/5I love everything about this knife, though I wish the blade was wider so I could appreciate the damascus steel effect more.Action was very smooth, especially after some initial light oiling. My only problem is that its a front flipper so its that much harder to deploy than other designs, which is what makes this that much less of a fidget knife than say, the Elementum modelCame with a dull factory edge that barely cuts thin plastic wrap and the front flipper lever is stiff, also I am not very confident that this is real demascus. over all my expectations were not meet.
