Blade: The blade of this sword is hand forged and polished with 10 procedures with ancient method. the steel we use is not the normal steel with the truck or cars or other life electric,the steel used for the blade contents much more carbon and the purity can not be comparable. The blade is sharpened, if you want it unsharpened, please contact us. Tsuba: There is no tsuba on this sword, please leave us a note if want to assemble one on it. The tsuba is used to protecting your hand from sliding onto the blade during thrusts and the hurt from your opponents. HANDLE: wide on the 2 ends, thin in the middle; hardwood wrapped with imitated rayskin(samegawa), synthetic silk ito, ornamented with menuki(one on each side), Fuchi&Kashira on the two ends of the handle. The Habaki (blade collar): it is a one-piece brass construction.the main point of the habaki is to make the saya tight to the blade,so it is normal if there is scratch on. Two Seppas (spacer): secure the Tsuba (if the tsuba is not so tight after a long time using,you can take apart the sword and put more seppas there). Menuki: ornaments on the handle,one on each side. BO-HI(blood groove): Long HI on each side.Actually it is misunderstanding of the BO-HI as blood groove, it is not only used to bloodletting,the main point is to light the weight of the sword, that can make the sword flexible, and provide audible feedback when swung. if you want the sword with strong strength, you can keep the sword without BO-HI.
