As soon as I hefted the knife I noticed how comfortable it was in my hand. The weight is a bit heavy, however I prefer a heavier knife. It slices very well. Smooth cutting and when needed easily splices thru semi frozen meat with ease.Held a sharp edge for a long time. All of my friends love the design. Excellent knife!I got this knife since it looks cool but then when I started using it, I realized that it's a well-balanced knife. It's very sturdy and has enough weight too when I do a hammer down chopping method on vegetables, it effectively cuts off the fiber at the end. It's not as precise as my other chef's knife of course but I bought this for what it is so I am not marking it down for that category. It also chopped chicken bones pretty easily without the blade being harmed. It work well for it's intended purpose. The edge is held descent. But it is already showing signs of rust on the blade. I would not buy again because I'm my opinion a chef knife should be kitchen grade stainless not stainless-ish.Very nicely made, good quality, but it's not sharp like in the advertisement, had a hard time cutting a tomatoeChopping vegetables and slicing meat love it and so sharp and great handling!I have big hands and find this handle to be too small. With the wide blade and small handle I have a hard time controlling it.Seems like a well made knife.Fantastic chef knifeThe knife is easy to hold and has an uncommonly good sharpness that I’m unaccustomed to.All of which are very important qualities in a knife.Excellent quality and serviceDisappointed of quality of handle for price paid. Bought as present for friend so cannot comment on how good it performs.Heavy knife. Ideal for chunky stuff but not veg prep.Leider nicht ganz zu meiner ZufriedenheitNow I'm no dab hand in the kitchen but I do like to make the effort and prepare and cook home meals for the family a few times a week. Like most people who don't mind time in the kitchen, I like good utensils to work with and I was excited to give this Japanese-inspired Chef knife from Haarko a try and to put it through its paces.First impressions were good as the knife is nicely presented and had the look of a premium product. On closer inspection once removed from its presentation box, the knife had an oily residue which is fine as it could have been from the manufacturing process or to maintain the blade and prevent pitting. My initial thoughts of it looking like a premium product slowly started to unravel as the minor blemishes and detailing started to rack up and detract from its overall finish. The handle is a little loose and clicky and it still had a dampish feel from overindulgence in the oiling of the wood.Once thoroughly cleaned and dried off, the knife doesn't feel too bad in the hand and has a substantial weight and presence that feels like it should be very capable. In reality, it's relatively sharp though I did need to brighten the cutting edge up a little after a few days of use with a sharpening stone as it wasn't quite sharp enough. It copes well with most tasks, though it's not quite the game changer I was anticipating and is best suited to vegetable prepping etc over fine slicing meats etc.In summary, it's not a terrible effort, but it's not chef standard as this average cook didn't find it to be the showstopper it was billed as. The overall finish lost it a star and the loose handle and over-oiling lost it another which is a shame as those faults needn't have been present and 5 stars could have been on the cards without them. Thanks for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpfulAll the best
