Case means American made by folks who make it obvious that they love what they do.First off, I carry knives every day, usually several. I use my knives as tools to cut things, not as scrapers, screwdrivers, or chisels. I know what it means to carry a good knife, and Case has never failed to make me proud to buy one of theirs. That being said however, Case has on occasion disappointed me with the somewhat lackluster color of their handle material. (The only complaint I can come up with is about any of my Case knives is the color, and truth be told, over time these ugly things start to grow on me and become my favorites.) This time I was joyous in seeing the beautiful red white and blue in their new Patriot series. The trim and polish was in this case just as each other Case knife I have obtained - beautiful. I almost find it hard to carry it. Then I can't wait to put it in my pocket! The functionality and quality of the knife is immediately recognizable. Sharp, clean and with that classic "Snap!" closure a really good knife has.I really am glad I bought this knife.I purchase a Case for my father each Christmas as a son-to-his-father custom, and few things make my old man's face shine like these do. I definitely recommend this or any other Case knife if what you are looking for is a classy American made gift for someone close to you, or perhaps yourself.I really enjoy the old-school/old-world design of the teardrop, and sway back knives, by case. The amber bone, barehead, teardrop knife I received is flawless! The fit and finish is incredible. The walk and talk is strong. A very fine American made slip-joint knife. I am very pleased with this one!My husband collects Case knives and he loved itI bought this just to throw in my Case collection. I love the pocket worn red bone, and the Tony Bose designs. What surprised me is that it quickly became one of my top three edc knives. Maybe it's the spear points. Maybe it's that it reminds me of a very dressy Swiss Army Knife. Doesn't matter, it's just useful for most of the stuff I need a knife for. The sad thing is that yet another Case knife has gone from being a collector to a user. Ok maybe that's not actually sad. I now get why guys like the smaller knives. Heck, maybe I'll even try a peanut next...loved this knife.Beautiful knife, more "aqua" than "emerald," but colors will vary.First, the "guts:" the spear blade coupled with the short pen blade makes for a very versatile (and non-threatening ... heavens! a knife!) combo. The blades, edges, and build are pure Case. The butt end has a solid filler inserted below the pen --- there is no wobble or instability, and the heft makes this compact knife a pleasure. (I wish Case would make more 2-blade teardrops!)The scales are smooth and hard to keep out of your hands. The design of this knife was very elegant and all metal components were beautifully polished. If I had any complaint it would be that the scales did not match- insofar as one side was quite light in tone and the other distinctively darker. I am under the impression that jigged bone would have been easier to match than other materials, but I must admit that the " peach pit " ( I think that is the term) pattern is really attractive. The knife still deserves five stars, and I am glad I purchase it.Case means quality and this knife lives up to that reputation. This is one of my daily carry knives. Nice, sharp edge, beautiful handle and Case quality. The teardrop shape allows for an excellent drawing motion with the knife as the large butt-end acts as an anti-slip design. Worth every penny.
